At MPower Girls Camp, we believe in the power of opportunity. That’s why we are overjoyed to announce that 2025 MPGC camper Emersyn Dearmon has been named a semifinalist in the 2025 MLK Jr. Oratory Competition.
About the Competition
The MLK Oratory Competition, hosted by Foley & Lardner LLP, invites fourth- and fifth-grade students from across Dallas, Houston, and Chicago to write and present original 3–5-minute speeches inspired by the teachings and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. The event aims to foster public speaking, writing, and leadership skills while celebrating cultural diversity and encouraging youth voices.
Why This Matters
By earning semifinalist status, Emersyn has demonstrated exceptional courage, thoughtfulness, and a voice that resonates — exactly the kind of strength MPower Girls Camp hopes to cultivate. Her achievement is not just her own: it reflects the heart of MPGC’s mission to open doors for underserved girls, giving them new experiences, platforms, and the confidence to dream big.
Join Us in Celebrating Emersyn
Please join us in congratulating Emersyn on this impressive honor. We look forward to cheering her on as she advances in the competition and beyond.
Go, Emersyn!
