About Us
MPower Girls Camp (MPGC) is a Dallas-based nonprofit dedicated to providing life-changing results through STEM camp for underserved 4th- and 5th-grade girls. We remove every barrier, registration fees, transportation, camping gear, clothing, and supplies are all provided 100% by MPGC. Our goal is to empower young girls with confidence, problem-solving skills, and exposure to new possibilities in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Sifa’s Story — Birth of Mpower Girls
The Summer Camp That Changed Everything
Sifa’s transformation inspired the creation of MPower Girls Camp (MPGC), founded in Dallas in 2023 to give other underserved 4th- and 5th-grade girls the same opportunity that changed Sifa’s life.
MPGC removes every barrier by covering camp registration, transportation, gear, and clothing are 100% funded by donors. Its mission is simple: to create life-changing results through STEM camp by building confidence, independence, and curiosity in girls who might not otherwise have the chance.
“Many of these girls have never been away from home or told they could be an engineer,” says Therese. “We want them to see what’s possible and believe in themselves.”
From Doubt to Determination
After returning home, Sifa’s confidence soared. She began volunteering to lead group projects at school and encouraging her classmates to 'try it anyway.' Her mother noticed the difference too: 'She came home stronger, more independent and she smiles more now. She believes she can do anything.'
Today, that same transformation echoes in every MPGC camper’s story. Parents consistently describe their daughters as more confident, expressive, and brave after camp, ready to face challenges and step into leadership roles.

What We Do
Each summer, MPower Girls Camp sends a select group of Dallas ISD 4th- and 5th-grade girls to the Girl Scouts STEM Center of Excellence for a week-long overnight camp experience. Our program combines STEM discovery, outdoor adventure, and social-emotional learning to build confidence, teamwork, and leadership. Through partnerships like Pariveda Solutions, we continue that growth with hands-on STEM workshops during the school year.
STEM as a Pathway Forward
Research shows that girls begin losing confidence in math and science around ages 9–10 exactly when MPower Girls Camp steps in. By introducing STEM through fun, hands-on learning, girls build skills and excitement that last far beyond camp week.
Through community partnerships, including after-school STEM workshops led by technology consultants from Pariveda Solutions, MPGC ensures that the life-changing spark continues year-round, turning curiosity into ambition, and ambition into opportunity.
The Heart of the Mission
“The single most important thing is to increase their self-confidence through this life-changing opportunity,” says Therese. “We want every girl to know she’s smart, capable, and worthy of success.”
Since that first summer, Sifa’s accomplishments have continued to shine. She became 8th-grade valedictorian, earned a full scholarship to private high school, and was accepted into the College Promise Program, working toward a free college degree.
Her journey embodies what MPower Girls Camp stands for: One week. One opportunity. One life changed forever.
Our Results
Life-Changing Results Through STEM Camp isn’t just our slogan, it’s what we measure. 100% of campers report greater confidence and independence, and 95% say they are more interested in STEM subjects and careers. Parents report improved leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving at home and school.
Costs of Camp
Each camper’s full experience is made possible by donors like you. The total cost of $1,350 per girl covers registration, transportation, clothing, gear, and year-round STEM activities. Every dollar you give directly supports a girl’s journey, from duffel bag and flashlight to code-building and confidence-building.
